Senior Materials

The School provides MOST of the basic materials for each student. This cost is included in the Tuition Fees. However, parents are asked to provide a simple pencil case and the following items / materials (different by level / subject area). The pencil case must have the student’s name inscribed. A copy of this document in Spanish may help you when shopping.

  • 2 Mongol No 2 pencils
  • 1 simple, soft eraser
  • 1 box of coloring pencils (12)
  • 1 red, 1 blue and a black ball point pen
  • 1 pair of school scissors (small)
  • 1 glue stick
  • 1 small English-Spanish dictionary
  • 1 package of Pilots (6 to 12 max.)
  • 1 simple geometry set
  • 1 30-cm plastic ruler
  • 1 compass
  • 1 small notebook
  • 1 graphic calculator, recommended model: Texas Instruments Texas Instruments TI Nspire CX. (For Senior 4 students and those starting IB Mathematics, please add the student name)
  • A device for accessing the Internet and the school server (see the Bring Your Own Device Policy)

Each student will also need a notebook/folder for each of their subjects according to the teacher’s requirements. Please, do not buy these notebooks/folders before school starts as the teacher might reject them given that each Department has different requirements based on their individual subject needs. Students will be given instructions as to the specifications of the required notebooks/folders at the commencement of classes in January.

Certain subject areas also require the following materials:

SPANISH:

Senior 1, 2 and 3: 1 “sewn” notebook (large, 100 sheets)
Senior 4, 5, 6 and 7: 1 3-ring “portafolio” type ring binder with divisions
All students: A medium Spanish dictionary and a materials folder

NOTE: All Senior Students need a medium Spanish Dictionary and a folder for materials.

HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY :

Senior 1, 2, 3: The required notebooks will be available for sale in the Bodega as from the first day of school. We hope in this way to help the parents who have had difficulties in the past obtaining the right notebook.

ART :

Seniors 1, 2 and 3: 1 thin sketch book (Senior 1 = red, Senior 2 = green, Senior 3 = blue)
Seniors 4 and 5: 1 normal sketch book (brown)
Seniors 6 and 7: 2 black books (one of 100 sheets and the other of 50 sheets)

These will be available for sale from the “Bodega” as from the first day of classes at a cost of ¢8,000.00 each for the sketch books required in Seniors 1 to 3 and ¢10,000 each for the sketch books required in Seniors 4 to 7.

Also for all art students:

  • 3 drawing pencils #2B up to #6B
  • 1 thick fine pointed black permanent marker
  • 3 thin black  markers and quality color pencils.

Please note that if the student constantly and carelessly breaks or loses instruments or materials belonging to the School, then he/she must replace them. The parents’ collaboration in this matter is a valuable reinforcement to ensure that the student appreciates the importance of taking care of their belongings and appreciates their real value.
