The British School of Costa Rica

The school supplies basic materials to all students. Their cost is included in each student’s school fee.

Early years 1 – Early Years 2 – don’t need to bring materials.

Primary 1 to 5 students must bring 1 simple pencil case of a reasonable size, with their name, where they will keep:

Primary 1

2 triangular pencils
1 simple soft eraser
1 box of coloured pencils (maximum 12) named
1 glue stick
1 20 cm plastic ruler  (not flexible, non metallic, P1 only)

Primary 2 to 5

2 pencils (not propelling)
1 metal sharpener
1 simple soft eraser
1 box of coloured pencils (maximum 12)
1 pair of scissors (small)
1 glue stick
1 pack of pilots (6 to 12 maximum)
1 30 cm. plastic ruler (not flexible, non metallic)
2 high lighters (Primary 3, 4, 5 only) 
1 simple calculator (named, Primary 4, 5 only)
3 ball point pens: black, blue and red (Primary 5 only)
1 simple memory stick (named, P4, 5 only)

• The purpose of each student bringing in his/her own pencil case is to develop responsibility in taking care of their belongings.
• We remind parents that they should constantly check that their children have all the materials they need for school.
• We ask for your cooperation in buying only the exact materials from the list and not changing them, for example, boxes of 24 coloured pencils or packs of 36 pilots.
• The students’ bags must be small and easy to handle (preferably without wheels). It is not necessary for the children to take home every book every day. All bags must be named.
• The students’ lunch bags should be simple and made of soft material. Please check that the children can open and close them by themselves. All lunch bags must be named.
