BOOK WEEK:

Primary School will be celebrating Book Week from July 26th to July 30th with a range of fun-filled, interesting and exciting activities to promote the importance and enjoyment of reading and books.  On Thursday 29th and Friday 30th, new books will be on sale outside the primary library.  We shall send out more information next week.

Next week the Spanish department in Primary School will be collecting used story books in good condition. They will then be passed on to a local, needy school.

A SENSE OF ADVENTURE:

A very different Gold Expedition took place over the holidays.  It was a 4 day trip by kayak in the Gulf of Nicoya that included island visits and a very wet overnight camp in the Curú Reserve which constituted training and planning toward the qualifying expedition.

It is hoped that, in future, such trips can be put on at Gold and Silver level, if there is sufficient interest.  The picture shows Virginie Fostroy of Senior 7 on the final day of the expedition.

THE LEARNING SUPPORT TEAM:

The LST department invites Senior School parents to a talk (IN SPANISH) about the “The role of parents regarding the consumption of drugs and alcohol by their children” given by the psychologist and expert in addiction, Roberto Castro, at 6.30 p.m. on Wednesday 28th July in the British School auditorium.  This workshop has already been offered to Senior 4 parents.
