Advisory Council
The Advisory Council of the British School of Costa Rica was founded in 2001, primarily as a response to the foreseen requirements of the CIS/NEASC accreditation process to have a separation of the governance and the management aspects of the School.  The restructuring involved Mr. Trevor Davies being appointed Headmaster (Director) of the school with responsibility for all academic affairs supported by Susan Bird as Director of Primary School.  David and Liliana and Lloyd continued as Directors General of the school with David Lloyd having overall responsibility for finance and building.

The School’s owners are the Directors General and are the School’s highest authority.  They are assisted by an appointed Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is, as its name implies, an advisory body with no specific authority or liability.
